seeing the light ….remotely

One of my latest purchases from progear has been a a couple of  canon 600ex and a ST-E3 , a 600ex is the latest flash from Canon . To be fair Canon has always been lacking in the old  flash dept , they have never been that great (nikon always had the jump in that dept) I used older ex580 flashes for the last few years  mostly in manual mode hooked up to pocket wizards ( mainly because they were so inconstant it flash power ), I also has a ST-E2 which is a transmitting device that fires the flash, but the down fall was that it was via a infrared signal so out side in daylight you could forget it, so I used them with pocket wizards they worked well burt there is a lot of cords and yet another set of batteries and the spare set of double AAs for when they stopped . but in general  it worked ok but it was never quick to get up or move if you wanted to change locations . I borrowed a 600ex rt flash from Canon CPS and it was fantastic . two days later I brought two and  in a couple of  weeks  its kinda changed how I shoot .

the flash system is so easy to set up and the flash is spot on every time even in auto mode . the great part is that they are fired via radio signal so there is no line of sight problems the old system had you can place the flashes  around corners of rooms etc .hidden from view and they fire every time and one of the other bouns bits is that they are small and  easy to use . it has changed they way I shoot and the other large bouns is  now I have a smaller lighting kit that is easy to travel with .

I cant say I have mastered it just yet  but a bit more testing and Im sure I will get my systems a bit better sorted and report back
