A very damp shoot

A very damp shoot

For the past several summer I have worked with Blue seventy a high end wet suit maker , started in New Zealand  they have now grown to be a world leader in wetsuit and swim suits design .

and they are also one of my favourite clients . this year its a number of shoot in new Zealand around the same time as the auckland Ironman 70.3 where we are able to shoot some of the bigger named sponsored athletes , this time a session was shoot in the Parnell Pools on a early morning then a few images  at the ironman .
the fitness of theses guys and girls is amazing after cycling swimming and biking 70.3 km its  like it was a easy as a walk to the shops to get milk ,next day at 6am they were at the pools ready to swim
shooting wise  I shoot the underwater images with a ikelite camera system using a Canon 5d mark 2  I throw on a weight belt and sink to the bottom and then time the shot when the swimmer is in the right position , then head to the top to grab some air , its taken quite a bit of practice but i have a good system going now .
next  part of the shoot will be in the coming days in Taupo
